Before I realized how easy it can be to travel the world, I was going through the motions of a life that didn’t make me happy. I thought about traveling, I dreamed about traveling, but I had no idea how to actually start traveling. Kuala Lumpur, to End Things
For our final stop in Southeast Asia (on this trip, anyways), we headed to Kuala Lumpur and met up with our good friend, Ronnie. He’s another American we’d met in Taiwan, and he’s pretty great.
Our hostel was in China Town (because, where else?), right beside the Petaling Night Market. We spent our first night catching up, telling stories (we had plenty!), and drinking at the nearby Reggae Bar. White Russians, because that’s what I drink. (more…)

Why I Travel
Someone recently asked me why I love to travel, and I didn’t have an immediate answer for them. It wasn’t something I’d seriously thought about before. My initial reply was simply, “Well, why wouldn’t I? It’s awesome!”

24 Hours in Singapore
24 Hours in Singapore
We’d arrived in Kuala Lumpur to meet our friend from Taiwan, Ronnie. But I had always had a hankering to see Singapore, and we were just SO CLOSE. So I convinced Nicole (not that it took any real effort) to make a a ridiculous 24-hour dash to see the city. It involved two back-to-back overnight train rides, sleep deprivation, a Bucket List cross-off, and a helluva lot of walking.
