My dad always talked about Slovenia when I was growing up.

So when I was on my way from Italy to Slovakia to meet Nicole, I obviously had to stop for a few days in Slovenia.[spacer height="20px"]

I am so very, very glad I did.

Slovenia is beautiful, unique, and straight out of a fairy-tale. Idyllic towns, snow-capped mountains, art and food and music-- and the fact that it's less widely known by travelers make it a perfect place to escape to.[spacer height="20px"]

I had a couple of days exploring the quirky capital of Ljubljana, and an unforgettable day spent at Lake Bled, which will forever be one of my favorite places I've explored.
